After all the crap that happened with my Dream Z, I put the Z32 on the back burner for the Z34! Back in Aug.07 I was rear ended stopped at a red light by a female drunk driver (2 strikes against her). She killed my Z, it was a sad 3 years without my Z, dealing with claims people from Geico, her insurance, doctors, lawyers, chiropractors, shady body shop guys that I had to sue to get money back that told me that the damage to the Z could repaired by doing a rear clip.
Long story short, I acquired another Z32 that needed a little TLC and an engine back in 08 from another tt.net member up in west point. I started the project by dropping an engine with 60k on it from Jean-François Roux at JFRacing, a well known and respected TT.net member from Canada (pictures of the gauge cluster with the mileage were sent before the pull) Engine was strong, pressure tested each cylinder and it was Approx 170psi all around. I was very happy with the performance of the engine, but the car really needed some TLC. So I got my money up (7g’s) and I was going to back the cake all over again, I still had all the major components that could make the Z look like the first one (from the front of the rear tires up b/c I was rear ended). But, at the last minute before I set a date to drop off the Z to the doctor I had a change of heart. What’s say this won’t happen again, do I really want to start this long project all over again, didn’t I learn my lesson before, I just want to be happy now, I don’t want to have to wait for my Z to be complete again it’s already been 3 years, I want to just smile and drive, and be happy. It was 3 years later and everything with the accident was said and done. All my bills were paid off in full before I even thought about building the Z again.
With the economy being the way it is I felt like I was in a good position, it’s a buyer’s market. So I did a little research first on a new 09 mini coopers convertible for 26,500, then a 09 civic Si for 20k with 500k on it, then a 06 350Z leas return with 18k on it for 20,500. But then I found a 09 370Z with the sports package with only 7,000 miles on it up in ROAD ISLAND for 26,500! I called the guy and he said that he had been trying to sell it for a while and he was considering putting it up in the dealer auction to just get his money back. The story with the first owner was he lost his job and had to trade towards more economical car; he did it at a Volkswagen dealership to get a lower monthly payment. I jumped on it, got my finances in order left a G for deposit before I went to the DR for a great vacation, all to come back to my NEW 370Z.
So I drove the Z32 up to my friend’s house to put it in storage till I decided what I was going to do with it. Posted the car for sale, no serious nibbles, then I fell in love with the responsiveness of the TT all over again. I decided to keep her a little longer, maybe after I finish paying off the new one I’ll start the project over. Even though I have a Z34, I still have a special space in my heart for the Z32TT.
